Picture of Edward Crowley wearing a orange jacket standing in front of sake barrels

Hi, I’m Ed.

I’ve been a user researcher for over five years.

I’ve worked at the UK’s Government Digital Service, as well as agencies, non-profits and startups. Most recently I was the first full time researcher at the Wellcome Trust, before I left to cycle the length of Japan.

I help teams build things that are easy to use and meet their audience’s real needs.

I’m good at understanding a space quickly, and really enjoy research focused on understanding audiences and validating problems.

I’m particularly experienced in working with specialised users, having done research with data scientists, developers, site reliability engineers/dev-ops, as well as civil servants, academics and policy consultants.

See some of the projects I’ve worked on here.
